Asher is back on the vent. The cpap was just too much work for him. He doesn't have the muscle development yet to handle doing all that work on his own. It's a little step back, but we know he'll get back to the cpap when he's a little stronger. They did say it was amazing he was on it for 48 hours. I think it's unusual for a baby his size to be trying that already!
You take my mourning
And turn it into dancing
You take my weeping
And turn it into laughing
You bring restoration
You bring restoration.. To my soul
I had a vision of Asher dancing one day and laughing- what a sweet moment that will be!
" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, " (Psalm 30:11 ESV)
I know everyone will tell you "Two steps forward and one step back" in the NICU. It is a very true statement. Always remember that even with the one step back, the two steps forward always equal progress and movement in the right direction! It is such awesome news that he was able to give the CPAP a shot for 48 hours...he will be back on it in no time!
ReplyDeleteMaybe unusual for a baby his size... But he has a big big God on his side!! Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us...so grateful Psalm 30 is and will be your testimony!!
ReplyDeleteHi there, you are a friend of a friend. My husband and I also went through years of infertility and I've been following your blog since seeing a prayer request on behalf of your family on Facebook. We've attended the Village Church on occassion (we live in HV) and I KNOW exactly the song you are speaking of. I can't even read the words without tears coming to my eyes and it speaking to me...love that song. Please know there are soooo many people praying for Asher, you and your husband. Lobbying for strength everyday!
